November is a glorious time to visit South Lake Tahoe. The first snowfalls, crisp cool air, deals on lodging, and plenty of events make this a month not to be missed. Whether you’re looking for outdoor activities, music, or food and wine festivals, South Lake Tahoe has got you covered. Here’s a rundown of some of the top events in South Lake Tahoe this November.
1. Tahoe Blue Event Center
South Lake Tahoe’s newest venue has several shows going in November from top-ranked boxing to electronic violinist, dancer, and artist Lindsey Stirling.
2. Holiday Tree Lighting
If you’re looking for a fun event for the whole family, check out the Holiday Tree Lighting on Nov. 24. There’ll be live music and lots of family-friendly fun all day long at the Heavenly Village.
3. Heavenly’s Opening Day
Heavenly Mountain Resort opens soon, with the official opening day on Nov. 17. Come skiing and snowboarding as you experience the fabulous slopes of Heavenly, including breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe.
4. Thanksgiving Dinner
South Lake Tahoe is a great place to celebrate Thanksgiving, and many restaurants will offer excellent deals with Thanksgiving dinners. Plan early to make sure you find and book your favorite restaurant in town. Or if you want to go all-in, booking a champagne sunset cruise on the Safari Rose boat could be the way to go.
5. Turkey Trot
If you still want to get your workout in before indulging in a Thanksgiving feast, join the South Lake Tahoe Turkey Trot on Nov. 25. This 5K race takes place on the morning of Thanksgiving Day and starts at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex.
