Cool dips in the lake, cookouts, and starry nights are hallmarks of Lake Tahoe in July. There’s also a full slate of entertainment and events starting with one of the best fireworks displays in the U.S.
1. Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake Tahoe
Celebrate Independence Day with a stunning fireworks display over the pristine waters of Lake Tahoe. Multiple locations around the lake host fireworks shows, providing a magical backdrop to a day full of festivities, live music, and food vendors. The biggest show is “Lights on the Lake” in South Shore. The display starts at 9:45 p.m. and is set to music on KRLT, 93.9 FM. 2. American Century Championship, July 10-14, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course
It’s the biggest party in golf with more than 80 sports and entertainment celebrities taking to the course with the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe as the backdrop. This year’s celebs include NFL brothers Travis and Jason Kelce, Miles Teller, Alex Rodriquez, and “Welcome to Wrexham,” co-owner Rob McElhenney. Insider Tip: The practice rounds earlier in the week are the best chance for a photo op or autograph with your favorite celebrity.
3. Colin Jost at the Tahoe Blue Event Center, July 13
Head writer and Weekend Update anchor on Saturday Night Live, Colin Jost will take the stage at the Tahoe Blue Event Center for one night only. Jost is adding this on to his trip to Tahoe to play in the American Century Championship so if you don’t get tickets you can see Jost on the course before and after his performance.
4. Live at Lakeview
Live at Lakeview is a free weekly concert series hosted every Thursday from 4:30 – 8:30 pm at Lakeview Commons, in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. The series runs from June 20th through August 29th, with no live event scheduled for July 4th.
Each event offers free live music and art on the beach, along with a variety of local merchants and delicious food options plus amphitheater style seating and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe from the Beer & Wine garden.
5. Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
Enjoy an evening of classic theater under the stars at Sand Harbor as the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival presents a lineup of captivating performances. From timeless Shakespeare plays to contemporary productions, this festival offers a unique and enchanting cultural experience. The 2024 Season includes performances of the “Merry Wives of Windsor” and “Always… Patsy Cline.”
