For many buyers, CLOSETS are high on the wishlist of what features they value in a house. One of the biggest complaints that we hear from buyers is that homes lack closets and storage. And here in beautiful Tahoe – we have extra seasonal clothing to accommodate!
If you have a five-bedroom house with a tiny fifth bedroom next to the master, it may be worthwhile to knock through and make a walk-in closet for the master bedroom. Empty-nesters might prefer fewer but more generously-scaled rooms with great closets.
In some of the older Tahoe cabins, closets can be SMALL. One thing to consider is simply to re-evaluate the use of space. A mini-remodel: updating the organization in a closet can make a big difference in the buyers’ perception of how usable the closet space is.
On the other hand, buyers looking for a second or beautiful Tahoe vacation home rarely put a high priority on closets. Bottom line: talk to Tim to get a sense of what potential buyers will want to see in YOUR particular home. Somethings are far simpler to address than others, and that IS part of our job! We know what sells (and what doesn’t sell) in the beautiful Tahoe real estate marketplace.
