With the busy summer season beginning this weekend, we’re highlighting some community events to help us all take care of Lake Tahoe.
June 1, 2023
Volunteers can meet at one of three locations throughout South Tahoe to pick up litter from the bike paths. Following the cleanup, volunteers will all meet at The Hangar for post event fun, food, and happy hour drinks.
Cleanup: 5 – 7:30 p.m.
Post Event Celebration: 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Cleanup locations include:
- Upper Truckee River Bike Path – meeting location at Motel 6 parking lot (2357 Lake Tahoe Blvd)
- Trout Creek Bike Path – meeting location at Lakeview Commons (corner of Lakeview Ave and Highway 50)
- The Y Area Bike Path – meeting location at Clean Tahoe office (2074 Lake Tahoe Blvd)

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association and Washoe Tribe are celebrating National Trails Day with two community events – trail work in Van Sickle Bi-State Park and cleaning up trash at Spooner South Trailhead. Trail crew volunteers will widen the trail corridor, clean drainages, and install signage. No prior trail work experience is required. Trail work will be from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
For volunteers who want to clean up trash along the trail and at the Spooner South Trailhead, the group will meet at Spooner South Trailhead at 11 a.m. and work until around 2 p.m. There will be a BBQ celebration at the TRTA Headquarters parking lot from 2 – 4 p.m.
Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day
June, 17, 2023, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Meeks Meadow
The League to Save Lake Tahoe invites volunteers of all ages and skill levels to this fun, hands-on, in-the-field event. By pitching in, participants will help improve the ecosystem function and the wildlife habitats that surround Lake Tahoe.
